Blog #2
Hello everybody! I haven’t updated in a super long time, and I’m sorry. The reason I haven’t written a blog since October 22 is that in the past few weeks, life has been crazy. School has really gotten into full swing, and my homework amount, as I’m sure all of yours is, is insane. We had a huge research paper due last Friday, and I have an interesting story to go along with it. See, I had it all written out on the computer (unfortunately, I failed to write it on something tangible…big mistake) on Monday night. I was really proud of myself for getting it done a day early, because I’m a horrible procrastinator. So I go to my computer on Tuesday night (keep in mind, the whole rough draft is due Wednesday) to edit my paper a little bit. I open the folder, and my paper is gone. I had written seven pages, and only two of them remained. You should feel very, very lucky that you weren’t there to see my reaction. After I screamed at my computer for a good five minutes, I characteristically started bawling. Long story short, it wasn’t pretty. Coincidentally, my sister had also lost her essay on the same day. After calling my friend’s dad (who is a computer genius), and getting on this fancy website that allows you to access files you opened days ago, we still couldn’t find my paper or her essay. Thus, we both ended staying up very late…retyping our papers. Thankfully, my mom kept her cool the entire time. She was the one who thought of calling Mr. Neal (the computer guru) to try and get back the paper, and she was the one who made me and my sister hot chocolate and encouraged us the entire time while we rewrote our assignments. Had it not been for her, Julia and I would have most likely been ripping out our hair and punching holes on our computers. Luckily, everything worked out just fine, and I handed in my research paper on time.
Also, I want to thank everyone who showed up for my cheerleading competition last Saturday. Even though we couldn’t technically win because we were the hosting school and hosting schools can’t participate, we still made up a routine and performed it. Pardon my pride, but we were awesome. But just because we couldn’t compete in the routine section, we could still win in the jumping and tumbling sections…in both of which we took first place :D . So if you came, I hoped you liked us!
Another thing, if you saw randomly placed J’s and L’s in my previous blog, it’s not because I was referencing to my sister Julia (who I’ve called J ever since I was little), it’s because I put smiley faces in my blog, and in the process of going on the website, they turned into J’s and L’s. Luckily, Phil fixed that for me :D
Well, that’s all I’ve got for now. I love you all and hope everyone is doing great. Have a fantastic week at school!
